He received his Masters and Ph.D. In Nutritional and Reproductive Physiology from Iowa State University in 1985 and 1989, respectively. For his Masters he studied the effects energy status and metabolites in blood on reproductive performance of high-producing dairy cows, and for his doctorate he studied the effects of genetic selection for milk production on energy status and reproductive efficiency of high and average producing dairy cows. He is a member of the American Dairy Science Association.

Bob has worked with Nutrition Professionals since 1989 and currently works with herds in Wisconsin and Iowa.

Bob lives in Waupaca, WI with his wife Colleen.
